Semana passada, dia 17 de novembro de 2009, a Polydor, em seu canal no YouTube, publicou o document\u00e1rio “Black Swan Story”, sobre o belo clipe do Athlete, “Black Swan Song”.<\/p>\n

O clipe, que mostra uma cena de guerra, \u00e9 uma alus\u00e3o \u00e0 Batalha de Arnhem, que aconteceu entre os dias 17 e 25 de setembro de 1944, durante a II Grande Guerra.<\/p>\n

A ideia era colocar em pr\u00e1tica a “Opera\u00e7\u00e3o Market Garden”, onde as tropas aliadas deveriam ocupar as pontes estrat\u00e9gicas de Arnhem, uma cidadezinha de menos de sessenta mil habitantes (\u00e0 \u00e9poca – hoje, com cento e quarenta mil). A opera\u00e7\u00e3o foi bem-sucedida a princ\u00edpio, mas s\u00f3 a princ\u00edpio. Com o tempo ruim, as tropas aliadas n\u00e3o conseguiram reabastecer os avi\u00f5es e nem dar retaguarda aos paraquedistas, maior contingente da opera\u00e7\u00e3o, o que culminou em uma eficiente retomada do local pelos nazistas.<\/p>\n

As perdas foram enormes. Sete mil e quinhentos paraquedistas, aproximadamente, morreram na Batalha de Arnhem. No total, em sete dias de batalha, quase vinte mil soldados morreram naquela cidadezinha da Holanda. O av\u00f4 de Joel Pott, guitarrista e vocalista do Athlete, o major John Pott, sobreviveu e foi deixado num hospital local at\u00e9 o final da guerra – ele acabou morrendo s\u00f3 quatro anos atr\u00e1s, em 2005.<\/p>\n

O document\u00e1rio, de quase 44 minutos, mostra Joel Pott visitando Arnhem, junto com seu pai, David Pott, conversando com moradores, indo a cemit\u00e9rios, \u00e0s pontes,\u00a0\u00e0 drop zone<\/em>, <\/em>museus,\u00a0locais de refer\u00eancia \u00e0 batalha, mostrando fotos da \u00e9poca\u00a0e at\u00e9 mesmo tocando com seu viol\u00e3o “Black Swan Song”, numa bela vers\u00e3o.<\/p>\n
